Wow, our first visit after living in the area for 10 years, what took us so long?? They were very busy on a Sunday Afternoon, a couple of large parties required them to pull waitstaff and hold a few empty tables until they could take on new patrons. No problem, we had a drink and waited by the bar chatted with nice patrons also waiting, fortunately for us we scored two bar seats as a couple was leaving. Spicy pineapple Margarita and Espresso Martini (I think they are famous for them) both spot on. Shared a cup of delicious Chili with prime rib and chips, Perfect! I opted for the Smash burger, 2, 4 oz patties on a brioche bun with thousand island and pickles, took of one patty's off to take home, and one was just perfect, husband had a regular cheeseburger with TL, both burgers, fries and onion rings where devoured, nice chat with the busy bartender and told him we can't wait to come back! A gem It's a very welcoming space, beautiful brick and dark wood with beautiful lighting.
Really helpful wait staff, and tasty food. The beer menu is great with a good selection of microbrews and classics. The arugula salad with walnuts and grilled salmon on top was delicious! I recommend this cozy place with good food, attentive service and reasonable prices.
Great place for a party -- we wanted some place "Newburyport special" to host a surprise 60th birthday gathering for 45+ local and away friends. Abbie couldn't have been more accommodating from the start and helped organize the menu, event set up, bar & welcome drink and even strategizing getting our celebrant to the right part of the restaurant for the surprise. We reserved the private upstair's rooms with fantastic bar and buffet for our guests to enjoy the party -- food, live tributes and local music singer/guitarist Chris O'Donnell. The night was magical -- the welcome cocktail (Kentucky Mule) delicious and greeted our guests upon their arrival. The appetizers and tasty bites cooked by PT Chef were ample and delicious. Appetizers included charcuterie and veggie boards, sirloin bruschetta, fried chicken sliders, tomato & mozzarella sliders, vegan-veggie wraps, a pasta salad and arugula salad. Our dedicated waitress Lucy and Bartender Damica were amazing; friendly, funny and efficient. THANK YOU SO MUCH PORT!
Great service and delicious food. We wanted to eat dinner somewhere that included these two things plus had a cool warm vibe. The Port Tavern hit all the marks. Bravo!! Between the 5 of us, we tried the French Dip, Rueben, Shepherds Pie, and Fish and Chips. Super pleased with the portion sizes, tastes, and quick delivery.
Love the Port Tavern! I recently took friends from NH there! They loved the menu! Sitting outside in that beautiful garden! Great server! Great food! Oh! When there is a major game on, they turn up the volume!
We were visiting family and ended up having drinks and food at this pub. This place is a fun place there were bachelorette parties and birthday party going on when we were there. The food and wine were very good. I got New England clam chowder so delicious and creamy. My hubby got pretzels and cheese. Our service was right on and we had a great evening eating outside and enjoying the night
